You have a winning formula when you combine a new Euro 5 compatible 300cc or 400cc HPE (High Performance Engine) with motorcycle chassis construction. Not only does the single cylinder four-stroke, four-valve, liquid-cooled package with electronic injection give more power and torque for great performance and more agile rideability, but it also reduces noise and fuel consumption, making it ideal for longer excursions.
The improved surface grip is also worth highlighting, thanks to the balance achieved by the high wheels and light alloy rims, with the front wheel being 2" larger than the rear.
The original and much-loved distinctive design is unmistakable in this new sporty form, but there are a few adjustments, such as the modified front and side silhouette, which has a more muscular appearance.
The LED indicators and parking lights accentuate the shield's borders, creating an illuminated signature that can be seen even during the day. In the back, LED lighting is also present, and the numberplate holder is inspired by motorcycles. The beautiful double-upholstered, double-stitched saddle is witness to a precise level of attention to detail, as are the glossy black detailing and seven-spoke wheel rims.
The 400cc High Performance Engine is more than just a cubic centimetre increase. The Beverly 400 has a 17% rise in maximum power over the previous 350cc version, as well as a 30% increase in maximum torque for an engine that produces over 35 horsepower and is Euro 5 compliant, giving it the best power to weight ratio in the category.
The fuel tank's location in the centre of the footwell has long been a distinguishing feature of the Beverly. It not only better centralises mass for a more nimble riding experience, but it also allows you to refill without having to dismount. Last but not least, it creates a large underseat compartment with a courtesy light and enough room for two open face helmets. A luggage rack with integrated passenger handles, a handy retractable bag hook, and a glovebox with USB plug at the back of the shield for charging your phone on the road provide additional storage.
In a tribute to its out-of-town touring credentials and spirit, the 400 HPE has a distinctive fairing.
Smart technology is transforming the bike-rider connection, making life easier with tools like Bike Finder, which comes in useful when attempting to find your bike in a crowded parking area. Simply press the button on the remote to activate the horn and lights.
The Beverly also ditched the traditional key in favour of a keyless system that allows you to start the engine, access the seat / fuel cap, and adjust the steering lock by merely pressing the fob in your pocket.
The new "navigation bridge" features a digital 5.5" LCD instrument display in the centre, with ergonomically built controls on each side of the handlebar for maximum comfort.
LED technology was employed in all of the lighting and indicators.
At first sight, the Beverly appears to be an attractive city bike, but its dependability, performance, and rideability indicate that it is no slacker when it comes to riding further afield. It's ideal for weekends away because the wide underseat storage can accommodate two helmets and other improvements have been made to produce a more comfortable riding position.
